After our really nice first day, we got up early to have enough time for all the planned activities for today.
The breakfast was directly a little highlight because they offered so many different things and also had a glutenfree section! With such a start the day could only be great.
Against all weather forecasts we had another pretty sunny and warm day. We checked out of the hotel and went to the old town of Stavanger, strolling around, taking pictures and enjoying the atmosphere.
At some point we had the feeling that we have seen all the most important things and decided to move on. Our target for today was to reach the hiking lofts of the famous Preikestolen.
But before we drove in said direction, I had a little surprise planned for Gigi! Instead of heading to the highway, we went to a little beach called Mollebukta which is also the location you have to go to see the Sverd i Fjell.
Those 3 giant viking swords are made of stone and are a wonderful spot to stop and take some pictures. We saw many people come here with a little grill, making BBQ at the beach with the whole family.
After this very nice stop we continued our way to Lauvvik where we took a ferry to cross the Lysefjord. The view all around this Fjord is stunning. Little islands with red and white houses are in every direction. In the background you can see high mountains, cliffs and a gigantic bridge.
Once you arrive on the other side of the Fjord in Oanes, it is a short but stunningly beautiful drive to the Preikestolen accomodations.
It felt amazing to come down the road and see the idyllic location of the Preikestolen Fjellstue. What a stunning place, wow! We parked the car, checked in, grabbed our cameras and went on picture hunt.
The view from our room out to beautiful nature and this wonderful lake. The huts and hiking path all around….everything simply beautiful!
Enjoy some impressions at this point!
Now we are getting ready for dinner and after it’s bed time because tomorrow we get up early to hike to the Preikestolen! …and then, lets see how far we make it 🙂
